Statewide Sleep Monitoring At Home
Home Sleep Testing is effective at diagnosing Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), but does not provide information on other potential sleep disorders. However, if you are suffering from Excessive Daytime Sleepiness or other sleep disorder symptoms, an at-home sleep test is a great place to start.
How does Sleep Testing at Home work?
A small, portable monitor will be sent to your home. With easy to follow, step-by-step instructions, taking the at-home test is very simple. The basics will include placing a monitor belt around your mid-section, attaching a clip to your finger, and using an air sensor under your nose to measure airflow. Return the device to the lab via mail, and a Stellar Sleep Diagnostics technician will review your results.
What Does A Home Sleep Test Measure?
The home sleep test (HST) will measure a few factors to determine your diagnosis; oxygen saturation, heart rate, airflow, movement in your chest and abdomen and time spent snoring. An HST is effective at diagnosing sleep apnea but not any other sleeping disorders.
